Radio Factory

A series of commissioned paintings for Radio Factory Lofts in Melrose, MA

The main piece, on view in the lobby, incorporates the long history of this old mill building which was recently converted into living space. Although the “R” stands out the most, the rest of the piece contains subtle nods to the old converse rubber factory which once occupied the building, but more importantly the National Radio Company who manufactured radio parts, where the loft space now derives it’s name.

In addition to the main piece, the factory original fire doors were sandblasted and repurposed into the perfect canvas’ for 3 more artworks which were painted on site. The artworks all take inspiration from, and tie into the lobby artwork while also being able to stand on their own as individual pieces.
